A minor ankle injury kept Gorgui Dieng from participating in the draft combine and a few workouts with NBA teams, but now that he’s healthy Gorgs has been making his rounds.
Dieng traveled to Cleveland on Thursday to meet with the Cavaliers, who have the first pick in the draft. They’re likely to select center Nerlens Noel with the first pick, but they also have the 19th pick in the first round. There’s been some talk that they may actually take both Noel and Dieng if he’s available at that point.
According to Jared Zwerling of ESPN, Dieng will have workouts with the New York Knicks and the Brooklyn Nets at some point before the draft later this month. The Knicks have the 24th pick and the Nets have the 22nd pick. Brooklyn has all but said that they would be drafting Dieng is he’s still available at the 22nd pick.
