AFC East Daily:
BY NICK ST. DENISMiami Dolphins kicker Caleb Sturgis has struggled to split the uprights as of late, and this week, Sturgis is struggling to stay on the practice field.Sturgis, who has missed five of his last eight field goal attempts, was limited in practice Thursday with a groin ailment, according to The Sun-Sentinel.The fifth-round pick out of Florida missed a chunk of training camp with an injury of the same variety, so it's possible the groin has been aggravated to some degree for a portion of the season.Sturgis connected on his first 10 field goals of his professional career and has made three boots of 50 yards or longer. If his groin is in fact a legitimate concern heading into the weekend, the Dolphins will have an extra day to assess the situation, as they don't return to game action until Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.Coach Joe Philbin said Thursday that the team will be off Friday.Follow Nick @NickStDenisFollow AFC East Daily @AFCEastDaily

Isaiah Kacyvenski can relate to Jonathan Martin.
Like the Dolphins tackle, Kacyvenski entered the NFL out of a prestigious academic institution (Martin is from Stanford; Kacyvenski from Harvard), and he understands how that kind of background can cause a player to become alienated from his teammates at times.
The former linebacker also once shared a locker room with Richie Incognito...

Ricky Williams, who played with Richie Incognito when the two were with the Miami Dolphins in 2010, provided an interesting take on the Jonathan Martin bullying saga on Tuesday. During an interview with KGMZ-FM in San Francisco, Williams refused to blame Incognito. In fact, he argued that bullying is essentially what NFL players are expected […]

Jonathan Martin abruptly departed the Miami Dolphins last week, but the idea may have been in his mind for a while. We have previously heard that Martin has had “emotional issues” since his rookie season, and Dolphins center and leadership council member, Mike Pouncey, says as a rookie, Martin was having second thoughts about playing […]
In this new series from TOJ, we will provide an opinion on an off the field issue taking place in the NFL. These opinions are from the individual authors and not Turn On The Jets as a site. The game we all love is played inside the sidelines 100 yards at a time, but the men standing on the sidelines and their actions are just as important. If there are any topics you’d like to...
On a SportsCenter segment, Howard asked the rhetorical question, "What level of coonery is going on?" with regards to the Miami Dolphins locker room.

If you are a fantasy football team owner, then you have to like your options in the game Monday night between the Dolphins and the Buccaneers. While we all were worried about Mike James being adequate replacement for Doug Martin (I was included in that pack), the running back has proven to be a nice find for the Buccaneers and only makes the backfield that much more talented upon...
Remember these comments from Rob Parker?
These are not unusual comments in the black community. Listen to closely to Parker’s questions and comments about RG3.
“Is he a brother or is he a cornball brother?”
“He’s not down for the cause.”
“He’s not really one of us.”
“He’s kind of black, but not the guy you really want to hang out with.”
“We all know he...
