ESPN.com reports that Gil Martin will replace Shane Wilson atop the pit box for Kevin Harvick starting this Saturday for the Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol. The Martin and Harvick pairing got Harvick 3rd place finishes in the points standings in 2010 and 2011, but to get over that hump owner Richard Childress thought a move with Wilson would work. So far this year the team has been the most disappointing Chase team. I say that because Harvick and Martin Truex, Jr. are the only drivers without wins in the top ten in points. Truex was not expected to do much this year, so being in the top ten is well beyond expectations. Harvick on the other hand had three wins early last year and sort of evened out the rest of the year. This year has been about the same, as he’s be consistent but not fighting for wins like Harvick is accustomed.
