Haywood: "I Rank Us Fourth"

By Jonathan Newton - TWP This was Caron Butler, speaking at the Wizards' 2008 media day: "Healthy, we're the best team in the Eastern Conference. That's how I feel. Hands down, we're the best team in the Eastern Conference if healthy....I feel that strongly. I feel like we're the best team in the Eastern Conference. If healthy, we're the best team in the Eastern Conference." Well, the "if healthy" part didn't exactly work, so it's hard to judge Caron's statement, but I can go three ways on this. One, because the NBA flying spaghetti monsters hate D.C., the Wizards are never healthy, so the "if" part of this equation is sort of irrelevant. Two, the continued zeppelin of confidence flying around F Street at least fire up the fans and make September and October an exciting time 'round these parts. Or, three, maybe they should win a playoff series
