In case you've been living under a rock and/or living outside of the convection oven that is Washington DC (say, Alaska): there's a heat wave going on in DC. Also, Bryce Harper was named to the NL All-Star team on Saturday, joining Bob Feller and Doc Gooden as the only teens in history to, like, be named All-Stars or something.
In spite of the heat on Saturday (140 degrees?), the Nationals forged ahead with a meet-and-greet with players, and Byrce Harper and Ryan Mattheus (decked out in Harper's offical Under Armour "Don't Be a Clown, Bro" t-shirts) handed out freeze pops to fans to help take the edge off.
Definitely not a clown bro move there, bro.

Bryce Harper has been accused of having a bit of an arrogant side. But for someone who supposedly thinks highly of himself, the 19-year-old phenom sure seems to have a realistic view on life. Bryce Harper isn't an All-Star? That's a clown question, bro. Why? Because Harper is headed to Kansas City. He wasn't originally selected to this year's All-Star Game at Kauffman Stadium, but that doesn't matter anymore. According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Harper will replace Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton -- who will undergo knee surgery either...
Does it get any better than this video (via CSN Washington.com) of Derek Jeter and ex-Nat Adam Dunn gushing about Bryce Harper? Well, yes, it does. But, still, it's pretty cool to hear Jeter talk about Harper. Dunn, too. Won't be long before Harper hits one up into the third deck at Nationals Park like Dunn used to, you know?
"You know what I like about him...
