Sports analyst Maxwell Asabre has called on the Ghana FA to give former Black Stars’ Skipper Stephen Appiah a farewell match as a way of showing appreciation for his committed service to the country.
According to him, it will be unfair on the part of the FA if they do not respond in the affirmative.
“All over the world, teams and clubs give their players fair well matches as a thank you message so it will not be out of place if the FA does that,” Mr. Asabre said.
“We saw players like Michael Ballack being honored with fair well match,” he added.
According to Maxwell Asabre, Stephen Appiah was the first captain of the Black Stars to take the team to the World Cup in Germany 2006, adding that Appiah is a man with good leadership qualities, which could never be emulated by any player.
“By now, he should even be given a role to play in the current Black Stars team because he has a lot of experience under his sleeves.”
