Heisman Trophy Winner Marcus Mariota? Slow Down

After an impressive first game against Arkansas State, Oregon freshman quarterback Marcus Mariota’s name – however it may be pronounced – has been tossed into the ring of Heisman Trophy candidates. One game, one bad opponent, one man mentioned as a potential winner of what is supposed to be college football’s most prestigious individual award. Does this make sense? At all...

Bennett’s Loss Is Oregon’s Gain

After the dust had settled from Oregon's quarter and a third firework show at Autzen Stadium, Bryan Bennett was left with almost three solid quarters to state his case for the Ducks starting quarterback job. Bennett has been through a lot in the last nine months. The minute Darron Thomas misguidedly declared for the NFL Draft, Bennett, last season's cameo hero against Arizona...

PHATDUX TV - Arkansas State vs Oregon Video Recap

Highlights & analysis from the Arkansas State vs. Oregon Ducks game at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, September 1, 2012.

Ducks Go To Barner For Win

Eugene -- Oregon relied on the running game Saturday to take and hold control of its contest with Fresno State and won 42-25. Senior running back Kenjon Barner set a personal best by gaining 201 yards on 34 carries and three touchdowns. His teammate, De’Anthony Thomas contributed 102 yards on seven carries and two scores. The game though was far from perfect for the No. 4 team in the country.

Oregon Looking At Special Season … In 2013

Sitting in a half empty Autzen Stadium Saturday night as the last minutes rolled off the clock, fans couldn’t help but look at this Oregon team and think of what could be. A freshman quarterback who showed poise well beyond his 19 years. A once-in-a-generation jitterbug in De’Anthony Thomas that very well could end up in New York come December, and a deep and talented defense...

Ducks Hold 35-3 Lead at Halftime

EUGENE -- The Oregon Ducks (1-0) took a healthy 35-10 lead into the lockerroom at halftime paced by a pair of 100-yard rushing performances. Kenjon Barner had 131 yards on 17 carries while De'Anthony Thomas racked up 100 yards on five carries. Both players scored two touchdowns each.

Ducks Edged by Pacific 1-0

EUGENE, Ore.— The Oregon Ducks women’s soccer fell just short on Friday night against the Pacific Tigers, losing in a hard-fought 1-0 battle. The Tigers earn their first win of the season, advancing to 1-5-0, while the Ducks fall to 3-2-0.

How Marcus Mariota will improve the Oregon offense

Upon further review, and no matter how you pronounce it, Marcus Mariota was dazzling and almost flawless in his debut as the Oregon quarterback. He completed 18-22 passes for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns, and three of the four incompletions were drops. In Mariota, Chip Kelly has a new kind of weapon. For the first time as head coach he has a passer who can run, rather than a game...

Ducks show a few blemishes

A week after a near flawless offensive performance, Marcus Mariota and the Oregon offense showed a few blemishes.

Lowe and Addison Ready for Game 2

EUGENE, Ore. – Prior to the release of the depth chart a couple of weeks back, there was much speculation surrounding the wide receiver position for the Ducks. Though the Ducks did have a few returning starters in Josh Huff, Daryle Hawkins, and Rahsaan Vaughn, many knew the Ducks’ receiving corps would see more than its fair share of new faces throughout the season.
