Twitter/@BLIZAIR “A win is a win.” When the win takes the team out of the running for the national championship, how true does that statement feel? Thursday night, Louisville beat Rutgers. The low-key rivalry paired well with Rutgers being one of the few opponents on the Cardinals schedule that could really help Louisville’s argument of being the best, or at least deserving the chance to prove it. The game did not wind up being a point proven for the home team. It was not the dazzle that the nation needed to be swayed. It was a tennis match of turnovers, which, on the defensive end, was the impressive note of the night for Louisville. Four interceptions and eight sacks later, no one was debating who the players of the game were. The unimpressive notes stuck out because they all resided within the offense – which had, up to this point, executed almost to perfection. We saw an offensive line that could not stay consistent. The difference between the blocking on passing plays and the b...

Rutgers at Louisville Game Preview

Heisman hopeful and projected 2014 NFL Draft first round pick Teddy Bridgewater and the Louisville Cardinals look to make a statement in their first real test of the season in Week 7 against the up-and-coming Rutgers Scarlet Knights on Thursday night in Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. This may not have the historical cachet of other intense rivalries around the country like Texas...

Louisville wins game, loses aura

Louisville was looking much better before anyone saw it. It was better as fiction than fact. And I find myself wondering what Condoleezza Rice thinks. I'll get back to that later. But Teddy Bridgewater and the Cardinals had their showcase moment Thursday night on national TV against a decent opponent, Rutgers. For the most part, Louisville has lived on highlights shows. That...

Defense was the story for the eighth-ranked Cardinals (6-0, 2-0 American Athletic Conference), who had four interceptions and sacked Gary Nova eight times. Safety...

Does Louisville Have The Best Defense In The Country? Numbers Don’t Lie

NY Daily News Heading into the 2013 season, the entire country knew all about Teddy Bridgewater and the high powered Louisville offense. However, many questioned the defense. Six games through the season, I doubt anyone is questioning Vance Bedford’s guys anymore. The Louisville defense was absolutely dominant on Thursday against Rutgers and continues to rank in the top five in...

Louisville intercepted passes on back-to-back drives in the fourth quarter, the second by Terell Floyd to set up Teddy Bridgewater's 3-yard touchdown pass that clinched the Cardinals' 24-10 victory over Rutgers on Thursday.

No.8 Louisville Cardinals VS Rutgers Scarlet Knights Recap

Thursday night the No.8 Louisville Cardinals defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 24-10. The Cardinals defense stepped up and gave the team a lift on an off night for Teddy Bridgewater. I picked the Knights to win this game but the Cardinals proved me wrong. Rutgers offense suffered horribly without Paul James as they rushed for a putrid 12 yards. Gary Nova was bad himself as he...

Louisville leading Rutgers at the Half 17-7

The Louisville Cardinals (5-0, 1-0) are leading the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (4-1, 1-0) at the half 17-7 in their home stadium. Many felt that this could be Louisville’s most challenging game of the season in the American Athletic Conference. There are NFL scouts from almost every team in attendance taking a look at Teddy Bridgewater, who at the moment is 10 of 14 for 154 yards...

Louisville Wins but did they Lose?

Louisville (6-0, 2-0) wins against Rutgers (4-2, 1-1) tonight 24-10; but did they lose? Not having a dominant performance against perhaps their most challenging opponent this season did not help their cause to be considered a National championship contender. Teddy had a good game but he was far from perfect in his performance, throwing for 310 yards on 21 for 31 passing attempts...

ESPN’s Collin Cowherd Can’t Seem To Make Up His Mind About Teddy Bridgewater

ESPN national radio host Colin Cowherd can’t seem to make up his mind about Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.  Along with doing radio for ESPN, he also frequently appears on the four letter network’s television show, SportsNation. Cowherd appeared on the show shortly after the NFL Draft in late April and shared an interesting take on NFL quarterbacks. “Most of the...

Someone Teach Teddy How To Slide

Photo: Robert Mayer-US PRESSWIRE There is one consistent problem I see when watching any college football team, not just the Louisville Cardinals.   Quarterbacks have no clue how to slide feet first, and Teddy Bridgewater is no exception. Last night during the Rutgers game we saw Ted run for a first and then dive forward head first in an attempt to get down and avoid contact....
