With the Illini’s first game of the 2013-14 season around a month and a half away —the Orange and Blue Scrimmage — it is never too early to talk about the 2014-15 season and the recruiting that comes with it. On Sunday, John Groce received a verbal commitment from a highly-rated recruit from Memphis, Tenn. Leron Black of White Station High School committed to play for Illinois after his visit to Champaign this weekend. Black told The News-Gazette Sunday morning, “before I came here this weekend, I knew Illinois is where I wanted to be.
