The Illinois Fighting Illini went through a rough 2-10 season last year, so to raise morale/change the losing culture, they’ve decided to wear these new helmets for the 2013-2014 season. No word on whether they will be changing their jerseys as well, but it is interesting that they changed their helmets again already.  Last year they unveiled multiple helmets that had different face masks and striping patterns they could pair with any of the helmets. Personally, I like the helmets from last year much better, but there’s nothing wrong with going back to a simplified traditional helmet. [CBS Sports]
