Looks like the Celtics are looking for bigs. According to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix, Indiana's Cody Zeller has interviewed with the Celtics. Most mock drafts have Zeller projected as a top-10 pick, so the odds of the Celtics snagging up the seven-footer are slim unless they trade up or he really bombs in workouts. While Boston may not be able to draft Zeller, it is telling that the first player, as far as I can tell, to be mentioned with the Celtics in the 2013 NBA draft is a big man. Of course, if it comes out tomorrow that they also talked to guard Michael Carter-Williams, then this theory is shot, but it looks like the Celtics are looking to add size. It makes sense for the Celtics to be looking at seven-footers, with the uncertainty of Kevin Garnett's future with the team and a squad that already lacked rebounding and toughness in the paint.
