Connor Shaw > Tony Romo & Jay Cutler? South Carolina starting quarterback Connor Shaw has become "an accidental star quarterback," as described by The Charleston Post and Courier's Gene Sapkoff. Since taking over the starting QB role following Stephen Garcia's rather messy departure from the Gamecock program, Shaw has lead the team to a 12-1 record over the past two seasons, including a Capital One Bowl win over Nebraska. This weekend, he's leading the team to a big SEC East showdown against Georgia. It big enough that ESPN College GameDay will be airing live in Columbia, for which Shaw is given a little credit in making happen. Shaw's 6'1, 207 lb. frame doesn't make him look like a first round NFL Draft pick, according to Sapkoff. (With that shaved head, he looks more like a Army recruit at Fort Jackson.) But South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier, never one to be satisfied with his QB's, praised his ability to avoid the mistakes NFL QB's do. At least if those QB...
