It's Time For Shady To Stop Being Shady.

Posted May 26, 2013

When LeSean McCoy was drafted by the Eagles, he (like Desean Jackson) came in as a guy with a little baggage, but a lot of talent. Now entering into his 5th season in the NFL Shady still can't stop being a little Shady. From immature Twitter battles with other NFL players to ugly Public verbal battles with Baby Mama, McCoy seems to be making more headlines off the field than on it lately. Now reports are out an alleged incident that occurred on a party bus. You can read more about the incident here: http://articles.philly.com/2013-05-16/news/39284229_1_big-brothers-big-sisters-driver-bus

Regardless of who's side of the story you wish to believe the reality is that McCoy needs to find a way to drop some of his recent negative publicity, before it goes too far and the team has to discipline him. The bottom line is negative McCoy publicity equals negative Eagle publicity and ultimately negative NFL publicity. The NFL can not have one of it's best young running backs involved in an alleged abuse of a female.  Rodger Goodell likely wont take any action against McCoy considering this isn't a criminal case, but that doesn't mean he isn't paying attention. At some point someone in the Eagles organization is going to have to speak with Shady and tell him to chill out, before things get out of hand. I get McCoy is extremely talented and the guy has 4 years in the league already despite being only 24, but I am doubting the Eagles being as willing to tolerate shenanigans from an 800 yard back with 2 touchdowns as opposed to the 1300 yard back with 17 touchdowns guy he used to be. It's time for Shady to step up both on and off the field.
