In the last year of his contract, Jared Allen admits this may be his last year in Minnesota (Credit: ESPN.com) With news coming out earlier this week that the Minnesota Vikings and Jared Allen have not spoken about a new contract, it looks as though Allen’s days in Minnesota are numbered. With Allen’s future unknown, he has been speaking to the media about his future. Allen spoke to Dan Wiederer of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and says he has absolutely no idea where he will end up playing in 2014. Allen admitted that he believes this may be the last year for him in Minnesota, which is not the best case scenario for him. “Best-case scenario would have been that we would have never gotten to this point. Best-case scenario would have been the organization would have gotten something done a few years back,” Allen said. “Well ya know what? That’s not the case. And I understand it. … I’m just happy I’m in a spot where both sides are honoring the contract.” At 31 years old, this may be the final year for Allen in Minnesota regardless of his play. If he plays well, the Vikings may not want to pay him a lot of money. If his play is average, the Vikings may choose to look for a younger player instead of paying Allen. Regardless of what happens with Minnesota, Allen is not worried about finding another job elsewhere in the league. “I kind of feel like I hold all the cards in that aspect,” Allen said. “And if it doesn’t work out with the Vikings, I’m not too worried that I won’t be able to find a job, ya know?” The post Jared Allen has “absolutely no idea” if he’ll stay with the Vikings appeared first on DOWN & DISTANCE - Presented by Sports-Kings.
