Fun, Gotye, and Mumford and Sons may have been the big winners at last night’s 55th Grammy Awards, but Jay-Z stole the show. His surprise performance with Justin Timberlake was noteworthy, but he also took top honors for speech of the night. While accepting an award for Best Rap/Sung Collabo for “No Church in the Wild” with Frank Ocean and The Dream, Jay used his camera time to crack jokes at an extremely underdressed Dream and said, “I’d like to thank the swap meet for his hat.” Clearly Jay, who’d been sipping on cognac throughout the entire show was feeling a little loose.
And it didn’t stop there. Backstage is where Jay really got open. Following in the traditions of Stanley Cup winners, cameras caught the 17-time Grammy Award winner pouring a little brown juice into his Grammy and indulging in a celebratory sip.
