Found December 11, 2012 on Razzball:
Chicago-cubs-starting
When looking for possible candidates for a 2013 fantasy baseball sleeper post, do you know how I found Jeff Samardzija?  No, I didn’t look up the most difficult player names to spell.  That might’ve have taken me to Samardzija.  Not to mention, Saltalamacchia or Avisail Garcia.  What the hell is an Avisail anyway?  It sounds like a nautical GIF.  (BTW, say Samardzija fast, like, three times and it trips you up; right now in my head, I’m calling him “Smegma,” so I can at least read back what I’m writing.)  So, I came upon Smegma (okay, that’s weird) for sleepers by simply looking to see which starters averaged the fastest pitch last year.  At the top of the heap is Strasburg; he ain’t gonna come at any kind of discount in 2013.  Next up, David Price.  Just won the Cy Young, and is on everyone’s radars. Cubs Injury Updates on Matt Garza, Ian Stewart

MLB.com released updates Tuesday on two players the Chicago Cubs hope to have on their Opening Day roster, starter Matt Garza and third-base hopeful Ian Stewart. Garza, projected even at this date as the Cubs number one starter, saw his 2012 campaign end in August after a triceps injury and a stress reaction in his right (throwing) elbow.  He managed to make only 18 starts...

Alfonso Soriano’s Hummer Is Ridiculous & For Sale

If you happen to have $36,000 lying around, you may want to look into purchasing Alfonso Soriano’s absolutely ridiculous 2005 Hummer H2, which is now for sale on eBay. The MLB outfielder spent over $100k on customizing his whip, which, according to the listing, is supercharged, has an incredible sound system, just over 23,000 miles, built in DVD & TVs, and comes with 24″...

Total Run Index Series: Chicago Cubs

Theo Epstein and Jed Hoyer took over an eroding franchise before the 2012 season. The Houston Astros provided them with a buffer in 2012, but that will be gone in 2013. With the Pittsburgh Pirates continually improving, it is likely that the Cubs will take a step back before they step forward. Epstein and Hoyer are going to try to avoid the temptation to go for the quick fix. Most...

The Hope Monster Strikes Back : how the Cubs can contend in 2013

Julie posed this series of questions over at LOHO today.    1) Where does this team finish in the 2013 NL Central? 2) Do the 2013 Cubs lose 100 games? 3) What moves still need to be made to make this team competitive (and be realistic, no “sign ARod” or any of that baloney). The easy [...]

Some quick hits... - Frankly, i have no idea what effect this has on anything, but the Cubs are one of three teams to have opted out of the MLB/StubHub agreement that was recently renewed. I imagine tickets for Wrigley will still be available on StubHub, but not in some official capacity. I also imagine the Ricketts didn't like seeing tickets going for $2 on game day on StubHub...
