It’s been a hell of a night to be a Louisville fan. Less than two hours after Louisville defeated Duke 85-63 in the Midwest regional final, Jeff Walz and the Lady Cards pulled off the upset heard around the world. The Louisville women’s basketball team stunned the overall number one seed Baylor Bears 82-81 in the Sweet 16. ESPN analysts called this the biggest upset in the history of the NCAA women’s tournament. Baylor is the defending champion and was the clear cut favorite to repeat this year. This year’s Baylor team was thought to be one of the best teams in the history of women’s college basketball. It took an extremely hot shooting night from the Lady Cards to pull off the upset. They finished the game making 16-of-25 three point attempts. Jeff Walz’s team stuck to the game plan and kept Brittany Griner to just 4-of-10 from the floor.
