According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the New York Jets are hoping to be able to trade quarterback Mark Sanchez some time during training camp if and when a team is in need of a veteran quarterback after losing one of their own to a serious injury. What’s really interesting is that Schefter says the Jets may also be willing to still pay some of Sanchez’s $8.25 million contract for the 2013 season just so they can get rid of him.   Need NFL Tickets?

Mark Sanchez: ‘No doubt’ I expect to win starting QB job

With the additions of David Garrard and Geno Smith this offseason, Mark Sanchez no longer has a stronghold on the Jets' starting quarterback job. But that isn't deterring the confidence of the man behind the Butt-Fumble. Per the New York Daily News, Sanchez said Thursday that he expects to top the depth chart and enter Week 1 under center for Gang Green. “No doubt,”...

Sanchez: 'No doubt' I expect to be QB

Mark Sanchez spoke for more than 20 minutes about the New York Jets' crowded quarterback situation, saying all the right things throughout. Yes, he believes he'll be the starter, and, yes, he looks forward to the competition. Then came the question everyone really wanted to know: Hey, Mark, what's up with that headband? ''It's my inner-soccer player,'...

Jets' Sanchez: 'No doubt' I expect to win QB job

Mark Sanchez says there's ''no doubt'' he expects to win the starting quarterback job for the New York Jets this season. Mark Sanchez starts Twitter craze with buzz-worthy headband

Mark Sanchez faced the media Thursday, for the first time since the New York Jets drafted Geno Smith and dumped Tim Tebow, and got almost as many questions about his head gear as he did for the Jets' head games. Looking head-wise more fashion ready for a Jane Fonda workout  — all that was  missing was the green leggings — than a  Jets scrimmage, Sanchez said "no...

Mark Sanchez Says He’d Help Tebow With Flat Tire, but not Sending Birthday Gifts

Warren Sapp summed up perfectly the New York Jets dual quarterback experiment with Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, when he said, “Nothing with two heads can survive on God’s green earth.” The Jets brought an end to that particular quarterback saga when they cut Tebow earlier this week, and according to a story via USA Today Sports, Sanchez told reporters that the internal competition...

Tim Tebow ready to be a backup and learn how to play QB

Tim Tebow wants to play quarterback in the NFL, but nobody in the NFL wants him as their quarterback. The last couple of years, Tebow has said that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help a team win, but he has been adament about being the starter. Before taking over starting duties in Denver two seasons ago, he vented frustration when he was looked over at the start of the...

Sanchez, Geno, Garrard, oh my!: Who will lead the Jets under center in 2013?

This years NFL draft has come and gone in the blink of an eye. The Jets addressed some serious needs (an attempt to replace the loss of Revis in drafting CB Dee Milliner, 9th overall) and ignored others (no TE or WR for a team that desperately needs help offensively.) Since the beginning of time, it seems, there's no bigger question left unanswered than who will start at quarterback...

Anthony Rendon's nickname is "Mark Sanchez"

What is it with Nats rookies and Jets quarterbacks, anyway? Last year, Bryce Harper said in an interview that he wanted to be like Joe Namath, and ended up with a "Joe Namath 12" nameplate above his locker in Spring Training. But now there's Anthony Rendon's nickname. Apparently Nats veterans have taken to calling Rendon "Mark Sanchez" because...
