Mark Sanchez is called a lot of things. Often times those 'things' are not very complimentary. There is one thing that no one will ever be to call him--a player that lacks confidence. Why? Because after all the drama on and off the field he still talks the talk and acts like his time can get the job done. Like he did recently when he said the Jets are playoff-bound. From Twitter Account @Mark_Sanchez Sanchez has not even been named the starter for the Jets (he and Geno Smith are listed first on the depth chart), but he is still acting and talking like its his job to lose. Even though his play has not been stellar, he is right.  The competition for the job he has had the last four seasons has not stopped him from acting like the team leader--something QBs always are--and talking about the team's future. "But it will turn around," said Sanchez to an LA Times reporter. We'll get back on track, get a couple wins, and once we get in ...

Mark Sanchez responds to a hateful fan

No matter how much Jets fans are ready to move on from Mark Sanchez, the Tweet below was not necessary and I give Sanchez credit for not lashing back. Mark Sanchez Thinks The Playoffs “Are A Given” For Jets

Mark Sanchez may or may not feel like he’s going to be the starting quarterback for the Jets, but he definitely can’t afford to show any signs of lacking confidence. Sanchez who is playing for his NFL life, told the L.A. Times that “things will turn around in New York,” and “the Jets will make the playoffs.” “[I]t will turn around,” Sanchez recently told Sam Farmer...

Mark Sanchez Says He Earned The Right To Start Preseason Opener

Mark Sanchez will start the Jets first preseason game on Friday night, and he’s possibly playing for his NFL future. Sanchez told ESPN that he’s really confident right now, and feels he’s earned the right to start Friday’s game. “I feel like I’m putting together a good camp and think I earned the right to start in this first game,” Sanchez said. “We’ll see how...

Sanchez: 'I earned right to start'

Mark Sanchez was hardly surprised when he was told he was starting the New York Jets' preseason opener at Detroit. And, not only because he has been here longer than Geno Smith. ''You have to ask the coaches, but I feel like I'm putting together a good camp,'' Sanchez said Wednesday. ''I think I earned the right to start this first game and we'...

Turn On The Jets ‘Let It Go’ – Mark Sanchez Edition

As anyone who follows the New York Jets knows, whether it be closely or casually, there are certain topics that are repeatedly beat to death by the media, fan base, observers, etc. There are numerous issues that seem to be debated back and forth, over and over again, without either side making much progress for the sake of their argument. In this new series here at Turn On The Jets...

Sanchez to start preseason opener

Mark Sanchez will start at quarterback over Geno Smith in the New York Jets' preseason opener at Detroit on Friday night. Rex Ryan says Tuesday that both quarterbacks will take snaps with the first-team offense against the Lions, but it will be Sanchez who begins under center. Ryan adds that the team hasn't decided exactly how the playing time will be distributed. Sanchez...

Mark Sanchez listed before Geno Smith on depth chart, sort of

The Jets have released their official depth chart for Detroit, and we're sure the overraction machine will be pumping on Tuesday morning. Screen Caps from NewYorkJets.com Did you see that! Mark Sanchez is before Geno...and that slash! Well, for the sake of not sounding like NYDN, that's probably for last name, alphabetical reasons. For real noting purposes...

Mark Sanchez Appreciates Antonio Cromartie Telling Fans Not To Boo

Antonio Cromartie is the Jets unquestioned team leader, so it was no surprise that Cromartie took Jets fans to task for booing Mark Sanchez during a recent scrimmage. Sanchez was asked by the New York Daily News, why fans would boo their quarterback as he worked to improve? Sanchez said, “Hey, you’re preaching to the choir.” Sanchez then added he was happy to have Cromartie...

Classic Horror film review: The Creature who wandered into Butt Lagoon

So it’s been close to a year since the already classic “The Creature who wandered into Butt Lagoon” (Which will be henceforth referred to as Butt Lagoon) came out in theaters last thanksgiving. An outstanding display of incompetent film making, Butt Lagoon gained an immediate following among fans everywhere, mostly for how bad it was. This movie has had some time to settle...

Jets GM wants Geno Smith to beat out Sanchez

Geno Smith has passed his daily quizzes for two weeks playing flag football in training camp but the real exam comes Friday night when he trades in his red non-contact jersey for a green-and-white one. The Jets’ quarterback competition may have technically started months ago when Smith and incumbent Mark Sanchez were frolicking around a New Jersey practice field in shorts but...

New York Jets x Time Warner Cable: Where to watch tonight’s game

Football’s back!  For many NFL fans, having the opportunity to watch their team in action, if it is just a preseason game, is exciting.  But many of us New York Jets fans who are also Time Warner Cable (TWC) customers, are being robbed of that joy because of an ongoing dispute between TWC and CBS. Tonight kicks off the Jets preseason and the game against the Detroit Lions will...

Week one preseason story lines to keep an eye on

The first round of preseason NFL games is upon us! Here’s a list of meaningful story lines to watch as week one of the preseason gets under way later tonight. Patriots’ receivers Much has been made of the Patriots’ no-name crew of receivers. Sure, they won’t be catching balls from Tom Brady, but that’s no reason to look past the Patriots’ matchup against the Eagles...

Fantasy Team Preview: Jets

Overall outlook: Full disclosure, I've been dreading and pushing aside this write-up as long as I possibly could. Without trying to offend the No. 1 market in the U.S., this team is a mess. The quarterback position is in flux, the main running back isn't determined and the biggest names in their receiving corps are former Cleveland Browns. Bye week: 10 Quarterback: Mark...
