Philly Buster:
Josh Barfield was one of the many candidates who could replace Chase Utley at second base as the perennial All-Star deals with a bout of patellar tendinitis, but Barfield was recently optioned to Triple-A.
Barfield has spent time at both second and third base this spring training and was having a great several weeks at the plate. He was sent down to Triple-A though, along with catchers Tuffy Gosewisch and Dane Sardinha.
Luis Castillo is still in a temporary tryout to make the team, and Michael Martinez and Pete Orr are viable options as well.
