The Phoenix Suns are trying to land Josh Smith. J-Smoov is so high on the Suns' wish list that the team will either trade for him during the season or attempt a sign-and-trade in the offseason, according to NBA writer Alex Kennedy.
Who would the Suns offer Atlanta? Just about anyone on the roster not named Goran Dragic.
Marcin Gortat? Yep. Jared Dudley? Uh huh. Michael Beasley? Sure, why not? And there's any number of players on expiring contracts and draft picks.
Smith and his agent are expected to meet with the Hawks' brass this week to discuss his future. It's not clear whether Smith will request a trade.
The Suns aren't alone in their pursuit of Smith: the Houston Rockets, Charlotte Bobcats and Dallas Mavericks would all like to give the power forward a new home.

Josh Smith is expected to be traded this season, according to Yahoo Sports' Marc Spears.
Smith has been rumored to be on the trading block for years. J-Smoov is finally on the last year of his $13.2 million deal. In his latest team power rankings, Spears wrote that the Hawks could finally pull the trigger on a deal this season

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith could be suiting up for another team for the first time in his NBA career soon. League sources have informed Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! This isn’t the first time that Smith has been rumored to be on...
Josh Smith trade rumors sprung up this past week, with the Phoenix Suns reportedly interested (and then not) in J-Smoove.
ESPN's Marc Stein reported that Atlanta is "gauging the trade value of their players and assessing their
options." But the Hawks won't be moving J-Smoove without receiving "a bona fide star player" in return.
The Hawks won'...
After Alex Kennedy of Hoops World reported yesterday that the Phoenix Suns were “pursuing Josh Smith”, 620 KTAR Sports Talk Radio host, John Gambadoro is refuting the report, saying the Suns have absolutely no interest in the Hawks forward.
The stories about the Suns being interested in Josh Smith are ridiculous, there is zero interest there -ZERO!

Now, after missing out on Gordon and Gay, the Suns have shifted their attention to a new star that may be available prior to the Feb. 21 trade deadline.
The Suns are pursuing Josh Smith, according to multiple league sources. Phoenix will try to acquire Smith before the deadline or, if that fails, through a sign-and-trade deal next offseason.
The Suns are very interested in Smith...
With Rudy Gay now off the trade market, NBA trade rumors will latch onto a new player. That player appears to be Josh Smith. And it did not take long for something to coalesce in the rumor mill. Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld reports the Suns have initiated preliminary discussions with the Hawks for Josh Smith. And, he reports, if Phoenix does not get Smith they would plan on pursuing...
Expectations around the NBA are growing that the Atlanta Hawks will trade Josh Smith this season.
After losing Steve Nash to the Lakers and failing to sign Eric Gordon to a maximum contract, the Phoenix Suns appear to still be in pursuit of a star player. With a team where their “star” is probably Goran Dragic, management is still on the lookout.
Now, the Suns are reportedly chasing after Josh Smith, who may be on the block for the Atlanta Hawks. According to Hoops World...
The first domino before the February 21 trade deadline fell Wednesday when the Grizzlies traded Rudy Gay to the Raptors for Jose Calderon and Ed Davis and then sent Calderon to the Pistons for Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye.
It was not quite the deal everyone expected for Gay, but it was not totally unexpected that Gay would get moved. Memphis is desperate to get under the tax...
ATLANTA -- The Atlanta Hawks had to overcome a 10-point halftime hole, dig in hard in the fourth quarter and survive a frenzied scramble in the final four seconds to beat the short-handed Toronto Raptors 93-92 Wednesday night at Philips Arena. Josh Smith and Al Horford led the Hawks (26-19), Smith with 20 points and 11 rebounds, Horford with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Korver...
