IndyCar driver J.R. Hildebrand ran into trouble while walking his dog Monday night in Indianapolis. Everything was normal until a man brandishing a dark colored pistol approached Hildebrand from behind while the latter was one his phone. "A guy came up behind me and was yelling something at me and I turned around and he was standing there trying to get me to give him my phone," Hildebrand told WISH-TV. "It was sort of dark so I didn't really realize it at first but had something that looked like a gun. It obviously didn't turn out to be a real gun because I could hear him clicking it at me and it wasn't doing anything." Hildebrand quickly dismissed the man after realizing the gun was fake. The former Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year had this to on Twitter: Just had the delightful experience of a guy trying to rob me w/ a fake gun while walking my dog. He didn't, @IMPD_News quick to the call. — JR Hildebrand (@JRHildebrand) October 29, 2013 Thanks for all the tweets, it really wasn't a huge deal... Guy never got within 10 feet or so & clearly wasn't committed. #getouttaheredude — JR Hildebrand (@JRHildebrand) October 29, 2013 Via USA TODAY
