When you think of Kasey Kahne you think of speed, boyish good looks, and an overall tame demeanor. You don’t necessarily think anything exciting or controversial, which means you don’t think tattoos. But now, you’re wrong. Prior to showing up to the Auto Club Speedway, Kahne went and got some ink done. Now before you get worried that he now has a sleeve or anything crazy done, it was something small tasteful. “It’s my grandpa’s initials.  I’ve thought about it.  For a while there I wasn’t really into tattoos.  Then over the last probably year I’ve thought a lot about it.  It’s been really the only thing that I wanted up to this point.  I was thinking about maybe doing it in (Las) Vegas or something a few weeks back and then figured out how to do it here in California.  A good friend of mine out here set it all up with one of the guys that he works with.  It was great.  It was first class and I enjoyed every bit of it,” Kahne told reporters Friday. The reason I don’t have any tattoos is, well, because I can’t think of anything I’d want permanently on me, and the pain factor. Hearing Kahne talk, maybe I should only have one reason. “It was little bit.  It kind of just pulls.  It’s like sharp and then it just pulls for 30 minutes or however long it took.  Then probably the next two hours after that it stung a little more.  Right now it just feels like a bit of a scab or something it’s not a big deal,” said Kahne. Could this be just the beginning for Kahne? “That was my first one.  I liked it, so who knows.  For now though that is really it.  I just kind of enjoy the part of good memories, lots of memories.  It’s just right there something I will see all the time now and think more about some of those memories.  I like what I did,” commented Kahne. We’ll have to be on tattoo watch in the future, but as Kahne said he got it for both his Grandfathers, who have passed on. If Kahne was to get ink done, this would be about the way I would think he would do it. Something tasteful and in honor of his family. Kahne will look to add something else to him Sunday, the label of Auto Club 400 Winner. You can see that 3 PM EST on FOX a little later on today.
