The University of Kentucky held a press conference on Sunday afternoon to introduce Mark Stoops as the new head football coach. Stoops comes to Lexington from Florida State, where he has been the defensive coordinator since 2010.
It was announced over the weekend that Stoops would not coach Florida State in their bowl game because there was “too much work to be done.” Stoops then made an interesting comment, wasting no time reigniting the bluegrass rivalry.
“I’ll do everything I can to help Florida State win, especially if they play Louisville,” Stoops told the media.
I don’t think there are many Louisville fans that are scared of Kentucky’s football program, but I like the smack talk early on. This rivalry is always better when both teams are excited about their program.
