Beyond The Buzzer:
Kobe Bryant had a special visitor while rehabbing at the Lakers training facility Wednesday – Dodgers’ phenom and rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig stopped by for a tour of the training center and even got to hang with the Black Mamba and pose for a few photos.
Kobe later acknolwedged meeting the ball player and says it inspired him to catch the Dodgers game tonight against the Yankees. (Check out photos of CP3, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and James Harden attending the Dodgers vs. Yankees last night here)
@YasielPuig stopped by my rehab session this am. I'm returning the respect tonight! My first Dodger game of the season @TheRealMattKemp

BEST OF MAXIM
Kobe Bryant attended the Los Angeles Dodgers’ game on Wednesday night, and the Lakers star arrived in style. Bryant shared a photo on his Instagram account of him on his way to the game: That picture appears to have been taken from a helicopter, which is Bryant’s usual method of transportation when going from Orange [...]
YOU’RE KILLING ME SMALLS
The Sandlot is the single greatest baseball movie ever. It is celebrating its 20th anniversary and to commemorate it, a handful of Major League Baseball players recited the most quoted lines from the movie, including the greatest performance this year by Yasiel Puig. “Wendy Peffercorn…” Now, granted they busted out the famous ‘you’re killing me Smalls’ line, but they...
What do you get when Yasiel Puig meets Kobe Bryant? The answer: Awesomeness.
Puig, the Dodgers phenom, posted a photo of himself with Lakers star Kobe Bryant to his Instagram account on Wednesday afternoon.

We kind of had the feeling Yasiel Puig would do this last night in his first game in Chicago. He seems like the kind of guy who likes to start a weekend early – and start the weekend early he did.
The ball was flying out of Wrigley last night like crazy. The Dodgers won the game 6-4, their 12th straight road win. The highlight was clearly Puig catching this low breaking ball and...
The Los Angeles Dodgers had their liveliest crowds of the season on this last homestand but they seem to save their best baseball for when most of the people in the building are against them.
The Dodgers flew through the night to the Midwest and then played one of their most explosive games in a week in a 6-4 win over the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Thursday. It was the Dodgers...
Yasiel Puig is fast becoming LA’s biggest celebrity. Today, Puig Mania made its way over to the Los Angeles Lakers facilities and Puig got to hang out with Kobe Bryant. Puig posted a bunch of great photos of his day to his Instagram and tweeted out some well wishes to The Black Mamba.

The Dodgers have had the best record in baseball since Yasiel Puig's debut. With a young exciting lineup, great pitching, and solid play in the field the Dodgers look poised to make a big run in October.
Quote of the Day
”Each player does what he can when he gets to the plate. Some people jump, some people slide, some people run,” Puig said through a translator. ”I have a previous teammate in Cuba that jumped and hurt his ankle. So I decided to slide.”

The Los Angeles Lakers have several players on their roster recovering from injuries over the offseason. Steve Nash broke his leg and faced lingering issues as a result. Pau Gasol was forced to play through knee issues, which required surgery following the season. And of course we all know about Kobe Bryant’s Achilles injury. While general manager Mitch Kupchack told the Los...
Kobe Bryant attended Wednesday night’s Dodgers vs. Yankees game in LA after meeting rookie outfielder Yasiel Puig at the Lakers training facility earlier in the day and deciding to “return the respect.” Bryant arrived via helicopter in a Dodgers cap and sat with the team’s co-owner, Magic Johnson.

Welcome to the 10th edition of the “Fab Five: MLB Power Rankings”, and our first top five of the second half. On the eve of the July 31st trade deadline, numerous ballclubs with playoff aspirations are spending their day on the phones, scrambling in order to acquire everything from quality starting pitchers to power hitters, in hopes of adding that one key player that can complete...
Cristiano Ronaldo threw out the first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday night, but if he wanted to ensure accuracy to home plate, he probably should have kicked it.
The Real Madrid star’s wild attempt could best be described as “just a bit outside,” and Yasiel Puig who was scheduled to catch the pitch, had no chance to corral it.
Check out the pitch below, which is still...
Putting the words "Los Angeles Lakers" and "tanking" in the same sentence is an odd thing. The Lakers are not a team that finds themselves competing for ping pong balls or near the bottom of the standings.
With Dwight Howard leaving in free agency and Kobe Bryant down for who knows how long with his ruptured Achilles, some people dared to use the "t"...
Yasiel Puig isn’t the only MLB rookie trying to make headlines. The speedy Jonathan Villar is quietly making a difference for the Houston Astros. As CBS Sports reports, Villar stole home in last night’s game against the Orioles. Watch video of Villar, who has only played 8 major league games, make an exciting play in the top of the 3rd inning:
To add insult to injury, it was...
