When a player has a weakness, it will usually be exposed.  This is true when talking about that player's game or an injury.  In Dwight Howard's case, his shoulder problems are common knowledge around the league.  And he says teams exploit that.According to Eric Adelson of Yahoo! Sports, Howard said Miami Heat players started grabbing and tugging at his arm and shoulder in order to inflame the problem early.  He says that when players do that, the shoulder hurts for the rest of the game.Well, Dwight, you just guaranteed that teams will continue to grab your arm and shoulder the rest of the season.  Howard can be a little too honest at times and it gets himself in trouble.  We'd all like to believe that basketball players are strict competitors who would never turn to dirty tactics, but that's just not the case.  Anyone who's ever played a pick-up game knows that's not the case.  And now that Howard has talked about what teams are doing and the resulting effect, more teams are going to do it.Howard is playing through a torn labrum in his shoulder.  He is in obvious pain in every game he plays, and the result has been reduced production this season.  So far this year, Howard is averaging 16.2 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.  In his career, he has averaged 18.3 points and 12.9 rebounds.Follow @hoopsinjurynews!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src="http://www.nbainjurynews.com//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js";fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,"script","twitter-wjs"); var _gaq = _gaq || []; _gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-34100676-1']); _gaq.push(['_trackPageview']); (function() { var ga = document.createElement('script'); ga.type = 'text/javascript'; ga.async = true; ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? An Open Letter to Dwight Howard

Dear Mr. Howard, Now, as I’m sure you’re aware, the Los Angeles ” Could Kobe possibly even win seven?” Lakers, sit in tenth place in the Western Conference. You’ve had an injury plagued season leading to the worst statistics of your career and have aided in setting a New York Jets-esque locker room standard of publicly announcing misgivings with the franchise, players...

Dwight Howard’s Inherent Flaws Prove Troublesome

Dwight Howard has some type of inherent flaw. I won’t pretend to be an avid NBA fan. When the big games are on, I watch and enjoy. I soak in a player’s greatness and watch him flourish. During the playoffs, I make a conscious effort to catch the contests at hand. I don’t dislike the [...]The post Dwight Howard’s Inherent Flaws Prove Troublesome appeared first on The Sports Fan Journal.

Lakers rumors: Dwight Howard to re-sign with LA?

It’s been anything but a smooth ride since Dwight Howard was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers, leading many to speculate he could be traded or at least allowed to walk at the end of the season. However, former teammate Rashard Lewis believes Howard will re-sign with the Lakers this offseason, reports Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida.“My gut feeling is I think he will...

Steve Nash seems frustrated with Dwight Howard and his lack of production

Steve Nash played through a number of frustrating seasons with the Phoenix Suns, but he rarely ever said much about it. Nash has always been one of the more quiet players in the league, so when he says something that can be construed as a complaint about a teammate it’s fairly notable. Nash and Dwight Howard, the Los Angeles Lakers’ two biggest offseason acquisitions, have not...

Trade Rumors Heating Up For Mavericks, Hawks

The Dallas Mavericks and the Atlanta Hawks are both going in interesting directions at the moment. Both are going to have the salary cap room to go after the off-season's biggest free agent, Dwight Howard, but both have to make sure that they don't make the wrong move here at the trade deadline. Stars on both teams are clearly on the trading block right now, and with the...

Kevin Garnett Once Refused To Do An Interview With Dwight Howard

Former Lakers head coach Brown, knew D’Antoni was in trouble

Former L.A. Lakers head coach Mike Brown is one of the nicest guys in the NBA, however, that doesn’t always translate to much. Appearing on ESPN radio with Colin Cowherd he shed some light on being fired and replaced by Mike D’Antoni. Cowherd asked what his feelings were when released or fired and Brown responded with “I was shocked.” Only a few games into the season one...

Lakers Stock Watch: 2/4 – 2/10

Image Credit: Noah Graham | Getty Images Another week, another bad break for the Lakers. Despite a promising start to the week with a win in Brooklyn, the Lakers finished the week at just 2-2. The Lakers endured a blowout loss in Boston, followed by a come-from-behind victory in Charlotte, then concluded the 2013 Grammy Trip with a discouraging loss in Miami. Although the Lakers...

Lakers’ Celebrate Homecoming With Win Over Suns

Photo courtesy of Harry How, Getty Images There’s no place like home. There’s no place like home… After two weeks and seven games on the road, the Lakers returned to the comforts of Staples Center to face a Phoenix Suns team who recently rallied in the final minutes of their last contest to beat them in the end. Looking determined to prevent the same ending, the Lakers got...

Preview: Lakers vs. Suns

The Lakers (24-28) return home after finishing a 4-3 effort in their longest road trip of the season. That road trip started in a shocking 92-86 loss to the Phoenix Suns (17-35), a team that was and still at the bottom of the Western Conference. Needless to say, the purple and gold are looking for some payback tonight. The last 10 days away from Los Angeles didn't go through...
