Credit Deadspin for calling out the LAT's own Dodgers blogger on this very unusual profile piece on Dodger Clayton Kershaw...which really ends up being a profile piece on non-Dodger Tim Tebow: There is no mistaking the precocious maturity of Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw. Whether in his calm focus on the mound or in the clubhouse, he is beyond his 23 years. He appears remarkably centered and at peace with himself, recognizing where he is personally and professionally. Kershaw is a devout Christian, though unlike Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, he is hardly in your face about it. Kershaw and Tebow are two highly famous young professional athletes who outwardly approach their strong faith in markedly different ways. If there is a showy, look-at-me aspect to Tebow and his kneeling in prayer on the football field and near zeal off it, Kershaw is more understated in his approach, if no less sincere. I’ve never heard him bring up God in postgame interviews or seen him...

Tim Tebow Just Hanging Out In Las Vegas

The last dude you’d expect to be in Las Vegas was in Las Vegas yesterday. That’s right. Mr. Wholesome, Tim Tebow was in Sin City yesterday. According to TMZ he caught a performance of the Cirque du Soleil show, “O” at the Bellagio with his brother Robby and a friend. Before all of Christianity flies off the handle, Tebow was apparently nothing but his boring-ass self. He...

Report: Tebow declines TV analyst job

Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has turned down an offer to appear as a studio analyst on CBS' Sunday pregame show, the network told USA Today. Tebow's decision was announced by CBS Sports chairman Sean McManus, who said the network "is perfectly fine with the lineup we have." Reports over the past few days indicated the network had offered Tebow a spot on the show...

Colletti Strikes Again: Kershaw Headed To Arbitration

Say it ain't so! Moments after hearing Loney and Ethier avoided arbitration, I hear from Jon Heyman that Clayton Kershaw filed for $10MM in preparation for his upcoming arbitration hearing. Ready for this? The Dodgers offer, $6.5MM. Say what!? I can not believe this goon we got running the show offered him $6.5MM. You don't low-ball the 2011 Cy Young winner and get...

Tebow played through injuries in playoff loss

Tim Tebow is expected to make a full recovery, without surgery, from rib, lung and chest injuries he sustained in the Denver Broncos' loss at New England in an AFC divisional playoff game last weekend. ESPN first reported Wednesday that Tebow got hurt on a third-quarter tackle during Denver's 45-10 loss, then had trouble sleeping because of the pain and underwent an MRI...

Tim Tebow played through injuries against Patriots

Vince Wilfork #75 and Rob Ninkovich #50 of the New England Patriots sack Tim Tebow #15 of the Denver Broncos during their AFC Divisional Playoff Game at Gillette Stadium on January 14, 2012 in Foxboro, Massachusetts. (Al Bello/Getty Images) The last game of Tim Tebow‘s 2011 campaign didn’t end the way the quarterback would like. It didn’t progress very comfortably either....

Tebow Time Over? CBS Attempts to Prolong Tebow Time, But Denver Broncos QB Politely Declines

It is a simple ratings strategy, really. Tim Tebow equals big time television ratings. It is that simple. So CBS decided that if they would not be able to feature him on the field in the 2012 AFC Championship Game on Sunday, they would attempt to do the next best thing and invite Tebow to be a guest analyst in their studio. Apparently, even Tebow Time has an expiration...

Tim Tebow Gets a Taste of Sin City

What happens in Vegas ... was pretty tame for Tim Tebow yesterday. The Denver Broncos quarterback was spotted strolling through the Bellagio hotel last night along with his brother and a friend ... after catching a performance of the Cirque du Soleil… Permalink

Tim Tebow Keeps Starting Job

No matter which team wins the Super Bowl, the 2011 NFL season will be remembered for one thing: Tim Tebow mania. The most talked about player in the league was someone you either loved or hated. There’s simply no middle ground when dealing with Tim Tebow. With that in mind, there is good news for fans of the NFL: Tim Tebow will keep his starting job going forward. John Elway, the...

Elway - Tebow... What Now?

Denver Broncos' Chief of Football Operations, John Elway, has publicly stated that Tim Tebow is the Broncos' quarterback.  He is signed for the next few years, until 2015, so the time to decide is here.   What do the Broncos do with this talented, dedicated, unorthodox quarterback? Some would say make him a tight end or an H-back.  Others would say use him like Miami...

The Case For Staying The Course In Denver

Earlier this week, John Elway made the unsurprising announcement that Tim Tebow would be the starting QB for the Denver Broncos as they head into training camp this year.  While that’s certainly to be expected since the Broncos depth chart beyond Tebow consists of Brady Quinn and only Brady Quinn, I’m not sure that Denver will continue to pursue and utilize some of the spread...

Dodgers 5x5 2012 Prospect Rankings

Matt Kemp finished as the MVP runner up, Clayton Kershaw won the pitching triple crown and a Cy Young award, and the team's top prospect headed into 2011, Dee Gordon, made his debut. That's essentially where the positives end for the Dodgers. The team is still up for sale, which will put to end the ugly tenure of Frank McCourt. The effects of McCourt will be felt for at...
