Gene Frenette of Jacksonville.com writes that Jaguars WR Laurent Robinson is still dealing with serious repercussions after he suffered four concussions this season.
According to Frenette, Robinson is still suffers from severe headaches that prevents him from going out in daylight and forces him to keep his distance from is infant daughter when she’s making noise.
“I want to continue to play [football], but I still want to live until 80 or 90 years old,” Laurent told NFL Network correspondent Andrea Kremer.
Robinson signed a five-year, $32.5 million deal with the Jaguars last year, but is facing an uphill battle in regards to both his career and future health. The team was forced to place Robinson on season-ending I.R. this season after suffering multiple concussions.
“I said to him, ‘One more concussion, and you need to be done [playing],’ ” said Robinson’s wife Kat.
Frenette writes that the Jaguars should be concerned about whether or not they can count on Robinson even be available next season. While Robinson still wants to play football, there’s a reasonable chance that he could call it quits at the first sign of a problem.
