Illinois fans can get their first look at the 2011-12 Fighting Illini basketball team on Oct. 15 in what promises to be a festive day on campus. The thousands of fans tailgating prior to the 2:30 pm match-up of No. 19/16 Illinois vs. Ohio State at Memorial Stadium are invited to head over to the Assembly Hall and watch coach Bruce Weber's squad in an open practice and scrimmage. The west doors of Assembly Hall will open at Noon, at which time fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at part of an Illinois practice. The Illini will then hold a series of intra-squad scrimmages beginning at 12:45. The scrimmage will conclude before 1:30, giving fans plenty of time to enter the stadium before kickoff.
