The Texas Longhorns and Mack Brown cannot wait until the 2011 season starts. 2010 was not exactly what Longhorn fans or Mack Brown had envisioned. The Longhorns finished last in the Big 12 South and lost games to teams they shouldn't have. The 2011 will bring many challenges to the Texas Longhorns and Mack Brown.

One of the first things that Mack Brown will need to do is get his teams confidence back. At times in 2010 they looked lost and that is rare for a Mack Brown team. The only game in 2010 they looked like a Texas Longhorn team was the win at Nebraska. QB Garrett Gilbert must play better as he threw for 2,744 yards, but only 10 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. The Longhorn quarterback cannot turn the ball over that much. If Gilbert struggles this season how long will it be until Texas fans see Case McCoy who is Colt McCoy's brother.

Texas has a new defensive coordinator and he will have some talent to work with. Even though the unit was not real good last year they do have experience and that is something that will help. Texas has a long climb and they will be feeling the pressure this season. When October 8, 2011 gets here the Texas Longhorns better be ready as they tackle Oklahoma who will probably be No.1. Mack Brown knows this could be a make or break season for him.
