Madison Bumgarner made his first major league start last night at home against the San Diego Padres. The start was in place of Tim Lincecum who was experiencing back spasms. The big question for me with this start was what would happen with his strikeouts. He went from a K/9 of 10.42 in Single-A to a 8.51 in limited time at A-Adv. It then tumbled in Double-A after his promotion to 5.80 resulting in a 2.30 K/BB.
