Marcel Desailly wants to coach the Black Stars in future
Ex France captain Marcel Desailly still harbours the ambition of coaching the Ghana national team.
The 44-year-old was one of the shortlisted candidates for the Black Stars job when it became vacant after Serbian Milovan Rajevac had left in 2010.
The 1999 World Cup winner however withdrew from the contest citing the excessive delay of the process in appointing the new Ghana coach.
Desailly again was reportedly the favourite to land the job as the replacement of Goran Stevanovic following Ghana’s disappointing finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
His appointment again never materialized with then assistant coach Akwasi Appiah graduating as the substantive Ghana boss.
Despite the disappointments, the former Marseille, AC Milan and Chelsea defender says he still looks forward to the day he will be able to share his experience gathered abroad as coach of the Black Stars.
