IntheOT:
Mark Cuban is one of every sports fans favorite owners due to his outspoken nature on a variety of topics with in the NBA and life in general. Something you don’t get form a majority of owners who do not want any publicity and often times remain faceless to the public. Throughout the year’s he’s had some pretty epic rants on sports, his tv shows and general commentary on society through his blog. Today he pulled off another classic rant by completely ripping the energy bracelets that many NBA players were due to their contract with the league. Interestingly enough the business idea came from Cuban’s television show The Shark Tank. Today when he saw a box of these bracelets in the Mavericks locker room he decided to throw them in the garbage and take a shot at the NBA calling them a scam. Check out the video:Watch this video on YouTube Embedded with WP YouTube Lyte. Can’t say I disagree having purchased one in the pass. Last December while shopping at an outlet mall in Cabazon, CA I was approached by a salesman at his kiosk wanting to give me a demonstration. Whatever little tricks he pulled off had me believing it made a difference. He was charging $30 for the bracelet I said not a chance am I paying that much. After walking away and having him come back begging me to buy it we negotiated back and forth before settling at $15.I ended up buying it for two reasons. Mainly, because I wanted to help the kid out who was busting is balls trying to make sales that day with most people ignoring him, not speaking English and just walking right by. Having been in his shoes having done sales I wanted go give him some business. Yet still had an interest in the bracelet thinking what’s the worst thing that happens I spent $15 on a ****** product, not the first time that’s happened nor will it be the last. The only way to determine if it actually worked was a test. I had a couple of workouts with it on and off, played a round of golf with it on and off and saw ZERO difference in my results. So Mark Cuban is correct and you are not going to fool a brilliant business man like him so its great to see him expose them and not tolerate them in his locker room.Should be interesting if the NBA tries to fine or punish him due to their contract. We have seen in the past Stern step up and not allow Cuban to verbally abuse them. I don’t know if he has the authority in this situation to do so, but whoever does if he is violating any contract terms I’m sure he will notified sooner then later.
