A score from Nikita Kotlov in the 64th minute was all the Indiana men's soccer team needed to down Georgetown 1-0 to capture the 2012 NCAA men's college cup on Sunday afternoon in Hoover, Ala. The title is the eighth in program history for the Hoosiers (16-5-3) who last won the championship in 2004. Indiana, who came into the tournament as a No.16 seed, is the first team of that seeding to claim a national championship in the history of the event. The Hoosiers out-shot the Hoyas 16-7 in the game. IU goaltender Luis Soffner made seven saves in the match, earning a clean sheet in addition to being named the tournament's defensive Most Outstanding Player. The victory marks the 11th time that a Big Ten school has won a national championship in men's soccer.     photo from washingtonpost.com
