It would have been poetic if the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers had been able to beat LeBron James and the Heat in Cleveland to stop Miami's winning streak at 23--would have been. At one time down by 27 points, the Heat overcame their largest deficit of the season to go on to win 98-95. For a time it looked like they were going to be able to do just that after a 23-3 run in the second half put them up by 21 at the half. The lead stretched out to 27, 67-40,  just four minutes into the third period off a Tyler Zeller free throw. Then the Heat began to wake up. A three-pointer by Ray Allen with 15 seconds left in the third topped off a 28-10 Miami run to close the gap to eight points, 74-68. LeBron hit a trio of threes to open the final period; the third gave the Heat a one-point lead, 80-79, The Cavaliers were not going to just lay down. After Miami stretched their lead to nine, 95-86, with three minutes left Cleveland went on a 10-1 run to close the gap to one, 9...

Poll of Clevelanders about LeBron James reveals 50% of them are liars

With the memory of LeBron James’ return to Quicken Loans Arena on Wednesday night (his fourth time as a visiting player) still fresh in the minds of Clevelanders — not to mention the Miami Heat’s triumphant comeback against the Cavaliers and all the odd things that occurred during the game — the Cleveland Plain-Dealer conducted an online poll on the paper’s website asking...

2003-04 Cavaliers look back at rise of LeBron

His teammates called him "Elvis" because of his fame. They laughed when he donned a wig and sunglasses so he could walk around a mall without being noticed. Yes, LeBron James was big news when he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers 10 years ago, But could anybody have envisioned back then the prodigy from Akron, Ohio, would end up being this legendary of a player? As a skinny...

Heat-Cavaliers Preview

LeBron James and the Miami Heat are about to play another game in Cleveland. Yawn. That's what a 23-game winning streak will do for a team. It mutes even the LeBron-Goes-Home-Again hype. Someday the Heat will lose another basketball game. Maybe even Wednesday night, when the reigning NBA champions drop by James' old neighborhood to take on James' old team, which happens...

Poll says Cleveland is divided on whether they want LeBron to return

Tweet There have been quiet murmurs over the past year or so about LeBron James’ impending free agency that is coming after next season. Obviously one possible destination being thrown around is James’ first stop in the NBA, Cleveland. The idea was fueled by the fan that ran onto the floor wearing a “We Miss [...]

LeBron James Gives Jason Terry the Brandon Knight Treatment

I've been looking for it, but I haven't seen it yet. Brandon Knight has to tweet something in regards to the dunk that LeBron James threw down on Jason Terry Monday night. It doesn't have to be much. Something simple like "I guess everyone is going to quit making fun of me now #jasonterry" or some derivation of that would work. The taunting was...

Fans, media remain fascinated with big dunks over small guys

By most accounts, LeBron James is 6-8, 270 lbs. Jason Terry is a modest 6-2, 180 lbs. I would expect James to dunk over Terry 100 out of 100 times. So… why the hell is the NBA blogosphere still buzzing about James’ dunk from last night? I thought we saw the end of this silliness when Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski lauded Brandon Knight for challenging this DeAndre Jordan highlight...

Who did it better? DeAndre Jordan vs. LeBron James

Brandon Knight and Jason Terry both have been the victims of humiliating dunks courtesy of Clippers' DeAndre Jordan and Heat's LeBron James respectively. Both dunks were absolutely filthy, worthy of being named Dunk of the Year but only one can be chosen tops between the two. Each have their similarities and differences. Jordan's alley-oop dunk over Knight was explosive...

Heat burn the Celtics for 23 in a row 105-103

This had all the ear marks of a true streak ender for the Heat, on the road in Boston against their hated rivals the Celtics. Add to the fact that the celtics 5 years ago to the date ended another hot streak by the Houston Rockets at 22 in a row, this was a game that some had saw this a a streak buster. The fact that the Heat was down for a good part of the game late really gave...

Heat stretch winning streak to 25

Another game, another double-digit rally for the Miami Heat. And most importantly, another win. LeBron James scored 29 points, Dwyane Wade added 19 and the Heat extended their winning streak to 25 games by pulling away in the second half and beating the Detroit Pistons 103-89 on Friday night. Shane Battier and Mario Chalmers scored 11 apiece for Miami, which shook off yet another...
