Found February 06, 2013 on It's Always Sunny in Detroit:
Wednesday marked a huge day in thousands of high school kids’ futures as they formally declared where they will be spending the next handful of years.  Obviously the adrenaline is flowing as players don the colors of their new school hoping to make that school’s alumni proud. Michigan State received an official commitment from running back R.J. Shelton, a three-star recruit from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.  Along with several of MSU’s other commitments, Shelton joined James Jahnke and Jim Rexrode, MSU’s beat writer for the Detroit Free Press, for an online chat Wednesday where fans could ask players questions Fan “Big R” asked Shelton if he has a touchdown dance ready for when he scores against Michigan.  And while Shelton didn’t answer the inquiry, he got bold with his reply… You can bet this will raise some eyebrows in Ann Arbor come October. And should the Spartans follow through on Shelton’s pledge, it would be eight victories in the last nine meetings against the Wolverines. Freep.com

Derrick Nix crushes two cheerleaders while hustling to save ball (Video)

Michigan State Spartans senior center Derrick Nix crushed two cheerleaders while hustling to save a loose ball near the baseline in the first half of Wednesday night's Big Ten college basketball game against Minnesota. The MSU cheerleaders were sitting on the floor behind the baseline in front of the stands. Nix was able to save the loose ball by knocking it to a teammate...

Gophers lose to Spartans. Again.

There is no shame in losing in East Lansing, god knows Tubby and the Gophers are used to it.  The Spartans are coming together, are a legit top ten team, and have a well known home court advantage - anybody expecting the Gophers to actually win this game is a pretty big optimist.  Since Michigan State has been going more twin towers they've become very tough to deal with, and...

Michigan State offensive tackle Fou Fonoti sports a serious afro (PIC)

Fou Fonoti has sported the long hair that is accustomed to his Samoan brethren.  But this offseason, the Michigan State junior offensive tackle has taken things to a new level.  After missing the last 11 games of the 2012 season with a knee injury, Fonoti didn’t only work his knee back into playing condition, but he allowed his flow to grow. Fellow offensive lineman sophomore...

Banged-up backcourt leads No. 12 MSU

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Subtract the backcourt tandem of Keith Appling and Gary Harris, and Michigan States basketball team would have difficulty beating anybody in the Big Ten outside of Nebraska and Penn State. With them, the Spartans are ranked 12th in the country and are just a half-game out of first place at 19-4 overall and 8-2 in the conference. In Wednesday nights 61-50...

Derrick Nix lands on a cheerleader trying to save the basketball

Michigan State Center Derrick Nix is a big boy to say the least.  In an attempt to save a ball from going out of bounds, the 6’9″ 270 pound center lost his balance throwing it back to Keith Appling and landed on a Spartan cheerleader.  The crowd’s reaction says it all, as they all let out an “Ohhh,” as the poor girl was crushed underneath him.  #12 Michigan State went...

Spartans may rely on Valentine

Michigan State needs freshman Denzel Valentine to turn his potential into production. Soon. ''I'm expecting big things out of him,'' Spartans coach Tom Izzo said. The versatile guard likely will play an expanded role when the 12th-ranked Spartans (18-4, 7-2 Big Ten) host No. 18 Minnesota (18-4, 5-4) on Wednesday night. ''He's not a freshman anymore...

Banged-up Spartans expected to play

No. 12 Michigan State expects to have most of its banged-up players in the lineup at Purdue on Saturday night. Keith Appling, Adreian Payne, Gary Harris and Branden Dawson are all expected to play for the Spartans. Appling was knocked out of Michigan State's win over No. 18 Minnesota on Wednesday night, leaving late in the game when his right shoulder popped in and out. Payne...

Injury Bug Hits the Spartans, Again:

Michigan State came back last game, after being down 10 at home against Illinois. The Spartans were hit with the injury bug again as Gary Harris and Travis Trice both left the game without returning. Keith Appling stepped up in a big way, finishing with 24 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and a block. The newly named captain, or #CaptainKeith as I have been calling him on twitter...
