Yesterday on WFAN in New York, Mike Francesa went on one of the best radio rants you'll ever hear about the current pathetic state of the New York Mets. I've never heard anything this crazed and sustained over ten minutes from Francesa as he tears into the team and compares manager Terry Collins to Rich Kotite. Ouch. Somebody must have spiked Francesa's Diet Coke.
Good Lord, just imagine if the Astros played in New York. While that clip is radio gold, it still falls just behind the defnitive Mike & The Mad Dog rant from Chris Russo after the Giants exited the 2003 NL playoffs. Maybe the rant above was Mike's way of secretly reaching out to the ghost of his former partner.

Yesterday afternoon, following the Mets 1-0 to the Rockies, Mike Francesa had an abbreviated version of his “Mike’s On” show on WFAN 660-AM in New York.
What followed may have been one of the greatest rants in the history of Sports Radio. One that will go down in history considering the host and station that aired it.
Did I agree with most of it, yeah I would say so. But comparing...
The Mets haven't scored more than two runs in seven straight games, and it doesn't look like that will be the case today when RA Dickey and the Mets take on the lowly Astros.
Today will also be Mike Piazza Bobblehead Day at GHMP, and fans attending today's contest will receive the bobblehead of the beloved Mets catcher. The entire metsfan73 household will be attending...

The Mets demoted right-hander Collin McHugh to Triple-A Buffalo despite a stellar debut on Thursday in which he tossed seven scoreless innings and allowed just two hits and a walk while fanning nine.
The Mets needed the roster spot for the return of Jeremy Hefner who was on a three-day paternity leave.
McHugh will now have to spend 10 days in the minors...
Many Mets fans are hoping and expecting that David Wright will be a member of the New York Mets, after 2013…but don’t count on it.
David Wright is going to be faced with a very big decision within the next year. David has gone on the record stating that winning will be a big factor when he ultimately makes his decision. It sounds like he wants to remain a Met, but wants to see...
A late game rally came up one run short as the Binghamton Mets dropped game two of their series at Hadlock Field against the Portland Sea Dogs by a score of four to three.
Gonzalez Germen started his seventeenth game for the B-Mets coming into the contest with a seven and ten record, figuring in the decision in each of his starts on the season. Germen would figure in this games...

Jacob DeGrom had another quality outing, but a strong day at the plate by Cory Vaughn helped seal the S.Mets 6-5 win
Cory Vaughn – 1 for 3, 2-run homer, 1 walk, 1 strikeout.
Darrel Ceciliani – 2 for 4, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout
Aderlin Rodriguez – 1 for 3, 1 RBI, 10th error on the season
Jacob DeGrom – 5.2 IP, 6 hits allowed, 3 runs...
Bernie Madoff took the Mets mojo and it might be years before they get it back. Sandy Alderson is certainly a good executive, but it will be tough for even him to get this thing turned around. He certainly kept them in the hunt this season for a few months, but the lack of talent kept them from remaining in the hunt. He has hinted that changes were coming next season...
NEW YORK -- R.A. Dickey didn't feel at his best nor did he have his best pitch, intimidating developments on their own for most pitchers. But with Dickey's only go-to pitch being a knuckleball, and the fact that his New York Mets teammates have struggled to hit during a six-game losing streak, it would have been easy for Dickey to quickly grow unsettled. Instead, the...
They were born the same year, 1962, as expansion teams, and in the Houston Astros’ final National League appearance against the Mets in New York, both teams are playing like expansion teams.
Although linked by their entry, the Mets and Astros never developed an substantive rivalry in these 50 years. Playing in different divisions dulled the potential of a rivalry. Both had long...
NEW YORK -- Collin McHugh couldn't get enough help from his offense, and the New York Mets bullpen didn't get the assistance it needed from its defense. So, for the second straight game, a Mets rookie starter dominated the Colorado Rockies, only to have the Rockies push the winning run across against the bullpen. This time, McHugh made an impressive first impression in...
The NY Mets are an embarrassment. 12-30! Mike Francesa. 8/23/12
