To complain about Jeremy Hefner's second straight pitching performance and a lack of hitting in the Mets' 8-2 loss to Atlanta seems ridiculous after a game marred by Tim Hudson's most likely season ending injury ... a fractured ankle suffered when Eric Young accidentally stepped on Hudson as he was covering a play at first base. Most everybody, certainly all Braves and Mets fans alike that I saw, were civilized and humane on social media. Some had a different take: worst part about Tim Hudson injury was he was pitching a gem,Young Jr. was easily out at first, played hard for no reason--107 pitches 0 runs — Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow) July 25, 2013 Pegged at first by two strides, ran through the base #fakehustle — Doug Gottlieb (@GottliebShow) July 25, 2013 I guess we're all entitled to our opinions ... however misguided they may be. And by the way, it was one stride. But you know ... facts are pesky. And actually watching the video would have probably been fake hustle anyway.
