The Indians designated RHP Carlos Carrasco to Columbus and brought up Columbus Closer Preseton Guilmet. Carrasco couldn’t make it out of the fourth inning on Saturday versus the Tigers, giving up 6 runs on 10 hits in just 3.1 innings. Carrasco, acquired in the Cliff Lee trade, has not had the best of seasons. Carrasco is 0-4 with a brutal 9.10 in six games started. He’s also served two suspensions this season, one stemming back from an incident in 2011 (which was put off while Carrasco rehabbed from Tommy John surgery) and he got another seven games for throwing at the Yankees’ Kevin Youkillis this June. Guilmet, a Triple-A All-Star, has gone 2-4 with 16 saves (second in the International League) and a 2.32 ERA in 34 relief appearances this season. A 2009 9th round pick, Guilmet been an absolute beast over his 13 outings (0.51 ERA, 17.2IP, 1 run, 22K). For the season, International League hitters are batting just .207 against Guilmet, with righty hitters averaging a paltry .167 against the right handed closer. Guilmet, 25, is expected to make his major league debut against the Tigers. The Indians also moved catcher Lou Marson from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
