NEW YORK—Shipping up to Boston to renew their most intense rivalry, the Yankees left town in style, hitting four home runs to power a 5-3 victory over the Rays on Monday at Yankee Stadium. Tampa Bay starter Andy Sonnanstine served up all four of the round-trippers. Johnny Damon’s solo blast put the Yankees ahead in the sixth inning after Mark Teixeira hit a solo shot in the first inning and Nick Swisher clubbed a two-run shot in the second. Now they will only be two games back of first going into the weekend.
