Petersonyardfirsttouch

Well, that didn't take long.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson went 78 yards for a touchdown against the Lions on his first touch of the 2013 NFL season. If this is any indication of his upcoming season the NFL all-time rushing record should be all his. Simply amazing.

Mistake-prone Vikings lose to Lions 34-24

Adrian Peterson took his first handoff of the 2013 season, cut to the right and outran the Detroit secondary for a 78-yard touchdown. That was pretty much the highlight for the Minnesota Vikings. Peterson's three-touchdown day wasn't enough to offset a slew of careless mistakes on both sides of the ball. Peterson ended up with only 93 yards rushing, and the Vikings turned...

Adrian Peterson started with a 78-yard touchdown on the Vikings’ first play, then was bottled up. What happened? Frazier had one explanation, but Reggie Bush won the running back battle. Plus, get a dozen-and-a-half notes that help tell the tale of the game.

Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions: 2013 Week 1 NFL Pick

Minnesota Vikings (0-0) at Detroit Lions (0-0) The Lions and Vikings are among the teams I picked to have big win changes, the Lions in a positive direction and the Vikings in a negative direction. Part of this has to do with the fact that the two teams did the opposite last season, with the Lions going from 10 wins to 4 and the Vikings going from 3 wins to 10. Ordinarily, we can...

Backing Up from Last Season

Last year saw two phenomenal individual performances from offensive players. Calvin Johnson broke Jerry Rice’s NFL record for receiving yards in a season and Adrian Peterson came within 9 yards of Eric Dickerson’s elusive mark for rushing yards in a season. In part both of those records came about through the sheer necessity of them being the only weapon on their team but they...

Jerry Jones questions Morris Claiborne's performance

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne was torched for five receptions, 108 yards and two scores against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. Anyone who has watched the Cowboys play during this span know this full well. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones...

Bill Simmons dares ESPN to punish him for ripping Goodell?

ESPN’s Bill Simmons sometimes goes off the rails in very un-ESPN-like fashion. As a result, he’s part of a small group of key faces at the Worldwide Leader who are sometimes penalized by their employer for going too far. It’s debatable whether Simmons went too far with his latest diatribe against NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday, but it does appear as though — in...

Bruce Arians: Hit on Drew Stanton was ‘cheap shot’

For the second straight week, Drew Stanton got it done. The Cardinals' backup quarterback, filling in for the injured Carson Palmer, threw for 244 yards and two touchdowns against the 49ers, helping the team improve to 3-0. Along the way, however, Stanton was the victim of a brutal hit by Niners linebacker Dan Skuta -- a hit that Cards coach Bruce Arians deemed dirty. https:...
