Florida may be favored to win the Sugar Bowl on Wednesday, and being a member of the Sec may have a lot of people believing this won’t be much of a match up with Louisville, but don’t tell that to Florida head coac Will Muschamp. The Gators skipper knows his team has their hands full for the big contest with the Big East representative.
BEST OF MAXIM
NEW ORLEANS -- They were two of the centerpieces behind Florida's turnaround this season, which likely was at the center of decisions made by junior safety Matt Elam and junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd to make themselves available for the 2013 NFL draft.
Both players confirmed they were NFL-bound after UF's 33-23 loss Wednesday night to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl...
Florida is ranked fifth nationally in total defense and third in scoring defense. Yet, safety Josh Evans insists both rankings fail to reflect how good the unit really is.
In his eyes, the No. 4 Gators (11-1) are second to none defensively, something they will try to prove when they play 22nd-ranked Louisville (10-2) and dynamic quarterback Teddy Bridgewater in the Sugar Bowl on...
Many college football teams have a tradition to stand on the field together as the marching band plays the school’s alma mater. I would venture to wager the majority of those teams do so win or lose.
On Wednesday night in New Orleans, just one player remained on the field to hear the alma mater for Florida after the Gators were roughed up by Big East champion Louisville to the...
Thanksgiving has come and gone. It wasn’t even last month at this point. It was days and weeks and months ago. But I’m thankful for something I’d like to add to my list from last year. I’m thankful the Florida Gators only have to face South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney once more. He has to leave after his junior season, right? I present to you the No. 1 overall pick in the...

NEW ORLEANS - The University of Louisville upset the 3rd-ranked Florida Gators in the Allstate Sugar Bowl on Wednesday night. The Cardinals received outstanding play from both sides of the ball and led throughout. Teddy Bridgewater, who threw for 266 yards and 2 touchdowns, was named Most Outstanding Player.
The Florida Gators got more than they could handle Tuesday night when the Louisville Cardinals brought it to them on both sides of the ball. Former Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong saw his Louisville team win decisively against a team that kept hurting themselves as well. Here is a pictorial of the game.
What a performance that was from Florida at the Sugar Bowl. ESPN reported the school only sold 7,000 tickets to the game against Louisville, making this game a dud for a school that thought it should be playing for the BCS championship.
And this is why you’re getting a playoff. You think Florida gives more effort if that was Notre Dame on the other sideline? The Gators were...
How often do you see a touchdown from a kick off? Rarely right? Well, Andre DeBose of the Florida Gators took it to the house against the Louisville Cardinals. Andre DeBose out of Florida is amazing. Maybe he’ll have another chance at a return.
NEW ORLEANS, La. — The Florida defense looked elite on paper in 2011, but most of the coaches and players knew that wasn’t the case. Opponents played conservative on offense, knowing the Florida offense couldn’t hurt them, and the Florida defensive numbers looked better in the first year under Will Muschamp. This year, that isn’t the case. The Gators defense has been dominant...
NEW ORLEANS, La. — Practices have become especially exhausting for Florida cornerback/wide receiver Loucheiz Purifoy. He’s spending time at practice on both sides of the ball while also getting increased reps as the kickoff returner. With an ear-to-ear grin after Monday’s practice, the sophomore raved about how much fun he is having while impacting the game in multiple ways this season.
We’re now about eight hours away until Louisville plays in their second BCS bowl game in school history as they take on the Florida Gators in the AllState Sugar Bowl. Here is an awesome highlight video of how the Cards got there.
