The NHL's realignment plan, which will debut in 2012-13 if approved by the NHLPA, is a little wild. And it has a bit of an old-school feel to it. The plan calls for there to be four conferences, with the top four teams from each conference making the playoffs. When it comes playoff time, the No. 1 seed will play the No. 4 seed in each conference, and the No. 2 seed will play the No. 3 seed.
