Just a few headlines to get your day started. Everywhere we turn, the media and fan blogging communities have another angle on the Phillies-Dodgers NLCS. 8:07 simply can't get here soon enough.

  • Brett Myers didn't make the NLCS roster. Kind of a shocker, no? J. Weitzel of Beerleaguer reminds us that Antonio Bastardo DID make it, and that Brett won NLCS game 2 over the Dodgers just last year. This year? Watching like you and me.
  • Want to know how Phillies hitters fare against the Dodgers NLCS rotation? I mean, really know? Bill Baer, the saber ninja at Crashburn Alley, has broken each matchup down with precision.
  • Anyone else a little surprised that Pedro is getting the ball in game 2? Charlie has made all the right moves so far, and I'm through questioning them. Really looking forward to seeing Pedro take the hill, in fact.
  • Over at TheFightins, Dash and Tug (no, not that massage parlor in Chinatown) break down some of the finer points of what they're expecting during this series.
  • Not strictly Phillies related, but Philly.com Sports got a major facelift overnight. Thoughts on the new look? Personally, I think it's a big improvement. Still missing one feature I've always wanted—a function whereby the reader can view the papers' content by calendar day.
  • How's this for timing? Tthe couple that owns the LA Dodgers has separated. Frank McCourt (not the Angela's Ashes guy) is the owner and chairman, and his wife Jamie is the CEO.
  • What's your prediction for the series? Johnny Finger of CSN and Finger Food says Phils in 5...

We'll be along with plenty more throughout the day. Keep sending in your thoughts, links, photos, and photoshops all series.
