Oakland Raiders (1-1) at Denver Broncos (2-0) I think a lot of people have forgotten how awful the Raiders were supposed to be coming into this season and I don’t understand why. They did almost beat the Colts in Indianapolis week 1, but the Colts won 7 games by 7 points or less against 7 win or worse teams last year, including the 2-14 Chiefs. The Colts then followed that up by losing at home to Miami. The Raiders then beat the Jaguars in Oakland last week 19-9 in a game that was actually more lopsided than the final score would suggest, but I don’t know how impressive that is. Jacksonville is definitely worse than the Raiders, but you can really say that about any other team, considering how awful the Raiders were seen to be coming into the season, and for good reason. I think that will get exposed this week against Denver in a blowout loss and even though this line is -15.5, I feel like it would be closer to -18 a couple of weeks ago, especially considering how well the Broncos h...

Denver Broncos: Manning will dissect Oakland Raiders’ top rated pass-rush

Because this is my third analysis of a Bronco-Raider matchup I want to avoid redundancy. Denver fans know what the outcome will be even Oakland fans know what the outcome will be. Readers can’t deny the success of the Denver Broncos this season with Peyton Manning having nine touchdown passes in two games in addition to a defense that has succeeded past expectations with Champ...

The Oakland Raiders gameplan vs Peyton Manning

In lieu of the typical format breaking down both offensive and defensive points, this week, I’m going to focus on the most important player on the field on Monday – Peyton Manning. First, I haven’t been able to scout much of the Denver defense to have a great idea of their strengths and weaknesses, and I don’t want to insult your intelligence by putting out half-completed...

Denver Broncos: 2013 Week 3 NFL Power Rankings (#3)

Last week: 4 Ryan Clady being out for the season hurts, but remember who they have under center. No quarterback protects their own blindside better than Peyton Manning. He thrived with a group of nobodies at left tackle in Indianapolis and he’ll be fine without Clady in Denver. They should still cruise through a very weak (at least at the top) AFC. His absence will be a bigger...

Hayden to get tested by Manning

Oakland rookie cornerback D.J. Hayden has never played against Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. He figures the two will become well-acquainted Monday night in Denver. Hayden is the youngest and least experienced member of the Raiders' defensive secondary, and that has made him a target for opposing quarterbacks. Indianapolis' Andrew Luck sought him out repeatedly in...

Houston Texans at Baltimore Ravens: 2013 Week 3 NFL Pick

Houston Texans (2-0) at Baltimore Ravens (1-1) The Ravens have been one of the premier home teams in the NFL over the past few seasons, going 24-3 at home since 2010. As a result, they’ve only been underdogs at home a grand total of twice in that time frame, losing once at home to Peyton Manning and the Broncos last season and then winning once at home as dogs last year against...

Peyton Manning Will Attend Friend Todd Helton’s Last Home Game When Rockies Take on Red Sox

Peyton Manning is submitting his name for BFF of the Year. The Denver Broncos signal caller will be preparing for a Monday night matchup against the Raiders next week, but he’s taking some time out to support one of his good friends. Rockies first baseman Todd Helton announced in September that he would be retiring from Major League Baseball after 17 years with the team, and his...

Manning thanks Helton for two big assists

Peyton Manning plans to catch Todd Helton's final home game for the Colorado Rockies next week so he can pay homage to his college buddy who gave him two big assists over the years. The first came when Manning was a homesick freshman at the University of Tennessee in 1994 and Helton, already a star in both football and baseball, took him under his wing and helped him adjust...

RG3 reportedly wanted to get away from running the read-option

During today’s show on ESPN’s First Take,  analyst Skip Bayless mentioned that a Redskins insider claims that Robert Griffin III told the coaching staff that he wants to get away from read-option this season because he believes he can be as good of a pass as  Peyton Manning. It certainly looks like the Skins have abandoned the read-option for the most part.  If Griffin did...

Caldwell carves out bigger niche in Denver

Andre ''Bubba'' Caldwell canceled his vacation plans after the Denver Broncos' season ended last winter, heading instead to a tattered football field near his home in Atlanta to run routes by himself, ear buds and reflections his only companions. He was determined to avoid a repeat of 2012, when he caught just one pass and was inactive half the time. '&...

Champ Bailey: ‘Hopefully’ I’ll be ready to play Monday

Denver Broncos cornerback Champ Bailey is hopeful he’ll be ready to play Monday night against the Oakland Raiders. Bailey said he’s not 100 percent. “But I’m definitely close,” he said after Friday’s practice via the team’s website. “Very close.”

Searching for win, Pryor not out to match Manning

Oakland quarterback Terrelle Pryor has seen the scores. Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos have put up 40-plus points in their first two games and made offense look easy. As Pryor heads into his fourth NFL start when the Raiders play at Denver on Monday night, Pryor knows the temptation will be to put more on his shoulders, to try to match the Broncos score for score all by himself...

2013 Fantasy Football, Week 3 Monday Night Football Preview: Raiders at Broncos

Peyton Manning- photo by: Football-Austria - Monday Night Football for week 3 has the Oakland Raiders heading to Denver to take on the Broncos.  Sorry Raiders fans, but you may need to keep the rubber skull masks on for this one to not show face.  An awful Raiders secondary matched up against Peyton Manning and his arsenal of targets wont make for a good matchup. The bottom line...

Oakland Raiders vs. Denver Broncos: Odds, Point Spread, Over/Under and tv info

The Oakland Raiders will play against their AFC West rivals the Denver Broncos on Monday night. While the Raiders (1-1) are looking to make waves in the division anything less then a Super Bowl birth will be a disappointment for the Broncos. Coverage of Monday’s game between the Raiders and Broncos will air on ESPN and WatchESPN beginning at 8:30 pm ET (6:30 pm MT, 5:30 pm PT)...

Winless Giants hope to fix porous pass rush

If the New York Giants are going to turn things around, they better find a pass rush. The defensive line played a huge role in their run to a Super Bowl title two years ago. It slipped a little last season as New York missed the playoffs and it's been almost non-existent in the 0-2 start this year. In losses to Dallas and Denver, the Giants recorded two sacks and just eight...
