There’s some high expectations for Urban Meyer’s second season as head football coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes. That’ll happen when you don’t lose during your first season. Like the initial Coaches Poll, the Ohio State Buckeyes will begin the 2013 season ranked second in the preseason AP Poll behind the heavy favorites Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama received 58 of the 60 first place votes in the initial AP Poll, with both Ohio State and Georgia snagging a single vote. The last time Alabama was the preseason No. 1 in both the AP and Coaches polls was 2010 and they’ve never won a national title after starting the season ranked No. 1 in the preseason polls. Ohio State began Urban Meyer’s first season at No. 4 in the AP Poll and finished their undefeated season at No. 2 behind the two time defending champion Crimson Tide.  Due to NCAA sanctions, Ohio State was ineligible for votes in the 2012 season.   behind the two time national champion Crimson Tide. Ohio State begins their season at home on August 31st versus Buffalo. [Related: Ohio State makes minor changes to football uniforms]
