A bad day might have a semi-happy ending for Hugo High basketball player Trey Johnson. The poor kid made national news after scoring a basket on his own goal and costing his team the game in the state quarter-finals.
There really isn't much you can say to a kid that has made that kind of blunder except that it is okay and eventually it will get better. It does suck that in this day and age when you make a gaffe like this it will be all over the internet in no time, but hey--that's the world we live in.
Personnel with the Oklahoma City Thunder, specifically general manager Sam Presti, heard about it and decided to do something to try and make Johnson feel a little better.
Keep your heads up #TreyJohnson and the Buffaloes. Your Oklahoma basketball family's with you! Congratulations on a great season. #HugHugo

OKC Thunder superstar Kevin Durant excitingly went to Instagram after the Knicks game as he posed for a photo with pastor Carl Lentz , while wearing his trendsetting backpack. Kevin became famous for his backpack trend during the playoffs last season as he rocked them to post-game press conferences, which stirred up a buzz amongst basketball fans and fashion critics, I would say...
What was Russell Westbrook thinking here? With 2:29 to go in the third quarter during Monday night’s matchup with the Spurs, and 18 seconds on the shot clock, Westbrook takes a step inside the half-court line and jacks up a completely ill-advised shot, expecting a whistle.
Russell Westbrook is getting his cover shoot on, The OKC Thunder superstar graces the cover of Complex Magazine’s April/May 2013 issue. The Cover feature starts off speaking on Westbrook’s tremendous scoring of the ball this season, as he’s the top scoring point guard in the league right now. Tweet Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is one of the most exciting and dynamic players in the NBA. He’s also someone that many people have a love/hate relationship with. OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Kevin Durant had 23 points and 10 rebounds, Russell Westbrook scored 15 points and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Boston Celtics 91-79 on Sunday to stretch their winning streak to five games.
The Thunder limited Boston to 25 percent shooting in the second half after the Celtics shot 51 percent in the first. Oklahoma City used an 11-2 run at the start of...
Outside of Miami's LeBron James, Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant might be the best player in all of the NBA.
During Sunday's game against the Boston Celtics, KD soared to the rack in the third quarter of play and got an and-one opportunity for his flight:
Today, the Celtics had their win streak snapped with a 91-79 loss to the OKC Thunder. This Thunder team has only lost at home four times all year, so I knew that this one would be tough. The Thunder led this game pretty much the whole way with the Celtics occasionally making failed comebacks. Pierce led the C's with 20 points on 6/12 shooting. Besides him, nobody else showed...
The matchup for tonight's game will be between Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Kevin Durant has been unstoppable shooting 48% in two games against the Spurs this season. He's averaging 21ppg this season against San Antonio and it doesn't look like he'll slow down for tonight's game. San Antonio will be...
Jeff Green's return to Oklahoma City was less than stellar. The worst part about this afternoon’s loss was the defense.I don’t mean that the defense was bad. It was fantastic. Kevin Durant shot just 6-16 from the field. Russell Westbrook managed just 11 field goal attempts. The Thunder overall were 44% from the field and 25% from 3-point range. The Celtics were on point throughout...
