With the players locked out, Joe Louis Arena is open to the public.
The Red Wings on Thursday announced an open-skate program at the Joe. Four, one-hour sessions -- 11 a.m. until noon, noon until 1 p.m., 7 p.m until 8 p.m., and 8 p.m. until 9 p.m. -- will be held Monday through Wednesday, Sept. 24-26.
Mandatory pre-registration for all sessions is open at www.DetroitRedWings.comOpenSkate and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Don't try to be like Dats, though. Sticks and pucks are not permitted on the ice surface during any of the skating sessions.
Admission and parking to all sessions is free.
