There’s an old saying that “When it rains, it pours.”
That’s obviously the case at the University of Oregon, where it quite literally rains nearly every day; according to ClimateZone.com the city gets hit with an average of 49 inches of precipitation a year.
However, in terms of the state of the Ducks’ football program, it could also be an appropriate metaphor for the state of Oregon’s current recruiting class. Ducks have seen several of their top commits- including running back Dontre Wilson, wide receiver Darren Carrington and a handful of others- take official visits to other campuses this weekend, and at this point are simply holding on for dear life.
For new head coach Mark Helfrich, there did appear to be a pot of gold at the end of the recruiting rainbow though when he got a surprise visit this weekend from three-star defensive end Davin Bellamy.
