Orlando Magic: Way Too Late Draft Grades By Mike Elworth: Owner and Publisher/Hoopstuff…. Pick 2: Victor Oladipo- SG- Indiana - There is no doubt that Oladipo will be a difference maker in the NBA, as he is an incredibly hard worker, with a high motor, a gifted athlete and the best perimeter defender in this draft. However, the Magic need an offensive star in the worst way and with Oladipo lacking in this regard and a relatively poor shooter, it is doubtful that he will ever become one. Ben McLemore would have been the far better option, as he can become an All Star and an elite NBA scorer, with his talents and it seems they chose the wrong shooting guard. Oladipo is more of a sure thing, but they should have gone with McLemore who has the much higher upside. Oladipo is no bust and will be an excellent NBA player, so it is hard to penalize them too much, but once again, they took the wrong shooting guard.
